Java Developer – (J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, Unix, Web, Agile)

Java developer with proven experience in J2EE & J2SE web application frameworks and commercial experience of related technologies (Hibernate, Spring, Web application servers such as WebLogic/WebSphere and experience with Agile development procedures) and excellent working knowledge of various UNIX flavours for a rapidly expanding online insurance broker.

You will be involved in the translation of internal client requirements and the development and design of application systems. The applications will be managed across the life-cycle of their development, and your role will be to design, develop, implement and support the creation of new and innovative applications. The client is a constantly growing insurance broker, delivering products to over 100,000 customers nationwide.

Prior experience in e-commerce is beneficial. You will need a strong degree, preferably at MSc level, in Computer Science, Maths or similar, and good communication skills are essential as the role requires regular interaction with business clients to assess and interpret their requirements to deliver optimum results.
