Anson McCade is partnering with a global digital transformation consultancy to hire a Principal Architect to lead on cutting-edge Data & AI initiatives. This role sits at the forefront of innovation, providing architectural leadership across high-impact customer programmes in both the public and private sectors.
You’ll shape strategy, guide delivery, and work directly with senior stakeholders to drive forward large-scale, cloud-native data platforms and AI-driven solutions. This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and has a genuine passion for data, AI, and digital innovation.
As a Principal Architect – Data & AI, you will:
• Own the architecture and technical strategy for complex, scalable, data- and AI-intensive platforms
• Guide customers on emerging tech: IoT, edge processing, serverless, cognitive services, ML, etc.
• Lead technical teams across multiple engagements—designing for outcomes, not just delivery
• Work directly with C-level stakeholders to define strategy and design principles
• Provide assurance and hands-on guidance to engineering teams, ensuring sound technical decision-making
• Shape policy, standards, and architecture governance across client programmes
• Support capability growth through mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and career development of architects and engineers
You’ll bring:
• Deep technical experience in designing and delivering distributed, modern data/AI platforms
• Strong grasp of cloud-native services on AWS, Azure or GCP (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
• Broad technical fluency across data storage models, messaging, queuing, CDC, virtualisation
• A solid understanding of system design that balances functionality, scale, and non-functional priorities
• A track record of engaging and influencing senior execs on technology and delivery
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects while keeping teams aligned and on target
• Experience making commercially aware decisions with both delivery and growth in mind
• A leadership mindset – someone who builds trust, promotes inclusivity, and empowers teams
Desirable:
• Experience managing architects or technical leads across multiple projects
• Active presence in the tech community through blogging, speaking, or thought leadership
• Involvement in developing new service offerings or technical propositions
Salary & Package:
• Base Salary: Up to £150,000 DOE
• Bonus:
• Flexible working, private medical, generous pension
