Fantastic opportunity for a curious and motivated researcher to join a leading-edge AI team delivering applied research across national security, defence, and public sector innovation programmes.

You’ll be part of a highly collaborative R&D environment, working alongside specialists in natural language processing (NLP), graph machine learning, and large language models (LLMs). This is an ideal role for someone with a strong academic background who’s keen to develop impactful, real-world AI solutions.

What you’ll bring:

  • PhD in a relevant field (or equivalent experience in applied research)

  • Experience working in areas such as:

    • NLP (e.g. text mining, entity linking, transformer models)

    • Graph ML (e.g. predictive models, knowledge graphs)

    • Knowledge representation, ontologies, or semantic reasoning

  • Strong Python programming skills

  • Familiarity with at least one ML framework (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)

  • Clear communicator, able to present work to technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with tools like PyTorch-Geometric, PyKeen, or Neo4j

  • Experience with SQL, Cypher, or other query languages

  • Exposure to applying AI in public sector or defence domains

  • An interest in collaborating on papers, prototypes or funded R&D proposals
