Location: London (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: Up to £525/day (Inside IR35)
We’re working with a leading consultancy on a long-term public sector transformation programme, and we’re looking for a Service Designer / User Researcher hybrid to join the team on a 12-month contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-impact government initiative, shaping critical services that affect millions. You'll work in cross-functional teams alongside delivery managers, content designers, and technical architects to design end-to-end services that are user-centred and truly effective.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Conducting in-depth user research to uncover user needs, behaviours, and pain points

Translating research insights into service design solutions and customer journeys

Facilitating workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders and end users

Producing artefacts such as service blueprints, journey maps, and prototypes

Supporting agile delivery and iterative development of user-centred services
What We’re Looking For:

Strong experience as a Service Designer, User Researcher, or hybrid across both disciplines

Comfortable planning and leading user research in government or complex environments

Able to translate research insights into actionable service design outputs

Familiar with GDS standards and working in agile multidisciplinary teams

SC Clearance is highly desirable – or eligibility to obtain it
This role is inside IR35 and requires a presence in the London office part of the week. You’ll be joining an experienced, collaborative team with a strong track record in digital transformation.
