A leading digital transformation consultancy is seeking a Principal Delivery Manager with expertise in Microsoft Dynamics and Low Code technologies to lead the successful delivery of innovative digital services and platforms for public and private sector clients across the UK.
This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring projects meet user needs and deliver against agreed outcomes, while aligning with best-in-class governance and quality standards. The Principal Delivery Manager will empower high-performing teams, foster a culture of growth, and lead from the front to ensure success across delivery, team development, governance, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Leadership
- Set the strategic direction for complex programmes, particularly those involving Microsoft Dynamics and Low Code platforms.
- Define and manage critical success factors across all project workstreams.
- Drive profitability through accurate forecasting and financial oversight.
- Ensure value-added delivery, proactive client engagement, and timely issue resolution.
- Contribute to delivery assurance processes and maintain high standards of technical and delivery governance.
Team Management
- Inspire and lead multi-disciplinary delivery teams, nurturing a positive, high-performing culture with a focus on innovation and professional growth.
- Line manage senior staff, ensuring regular feedback, goal alignment, and robust performance management.
- Oversee onboarding and staffing strategies, particularly for Dynamics and Low Code specialists.
- Act as a senior escalation point for team or project-related concerns.
Governance & Assurance
- Ensure all projects follow appropriate governance structures and meet rigorous quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with internal assurance teams to conduct project health checks, manage risks, and ensure compliance.
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection policies at all times.
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Work in close partnership with sales and account teams to drive business growth, identify opportunities, and shape proposals for new and existing clients.
- Support commercial negotiations and contract oversight, ensuring favourable terms and full compliance.
- Promote success stories through thought leadership, award submissions, and industry events.
Professional Development & Innovation
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within delivery and the wider Low Code and Dynamics practices.
- Encourage innovation in technology and processes, while aligning with advancements in design, consulting, and engineering.
- Actively contribute to recruitment and talent strategy, ensuring a robust pipeline of skilled professionals.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record (4+ years) delivering large-scale, agile technology programmes, with extensive use of Microsoft Dynamics and Low Code solutions.
- Strong experience in managing and mentoring senior project teams, including direct line management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships within sectors such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
- Deep understanding of software delivery best practices, with a broad technical knowledge base and familiarity with emerging tech trends.
- Commercial acumen, including experience managing contracts and commercial negotiations.
- Familiarity with multi-supplier environments and governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead under pressure, balancing client needs with organisational goals and team well-being.
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly as required.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience delivering digital transformation programmes.
- Background in managing distributed agile teams across complex stakeholder environments.
- Knowledge of user research, analytics, and service design in digital delivery.
- A track record of securing follow-on business and client growth.
- Experience improving leadership and delivery practices within a digital or consultancy setting.
- Recognised thought leadership through publications or speaking engagements.
- Holds a recognised project or programme management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, AgilePM, SAFe).
