Anson McCade is proud to be partnering with a leading digital transformation consultancy, hiring for a Data Architect with experience across the UK Public Sector, ideally with exposure to defence or national security projects.
This is a key role in an award-winning Data & AI team, helping shape secure, high-performance data architecture solutions for government and public health clients.
As a Data Architect, you will:

Act as the data SME on complex digital transformation programmes, advising on data structures, flows, governance, and sourcing

Lead the design and definition of secure, scalable data solutions across on-prem, cloud (AWS), and hybrid environments

Engage directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders in public sector environments

Coach and mentor junior data engineers and architects

Contribute to the firm’s wider data architecture capability and go-to-market strategy
You’ll bring:

Experience working in a consulting environment with end clients in defence, public sector, or public health

Strong hands-on technical background in data modelling, data analysis, metadata management, data transformation, and master data management

Leadership experience in delivering data architecture projects – ideally across both traditional and modern cloud-native stacks

Knowledge of at least 3 mainstream data technologies (e.g. AWS data services, SQL/NoSQL, Spark, Kafka, etc.)

Confident communicator – able to influence clients and internal stakeholders, and represent the company in external forums

A self-starter mindset, with the ability to lead in uncertain or fast-changing project environments
Bonus points if you have:

Experience designing data lakes and governance models

Familiarity with enterprise data architecture patterns

Prior work involving data handling models for defence or secure environments

Understanding of information assurance and cloud security models
