3rd Line Support Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to provide high-level support across critical infrastructure environments. This role will focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and collaboration with technical teams to ensure stability and security of systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure support and a proven track record of managing complex environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues (Windows, RHEL, SAN, GPOs, WSUS, AD, AppLocker, etc.).

  • Collaborate with Network, Engineering, and SOC teams to resolve end-user issues.

  • Work directly with client leads on escalated incidents.

  • Perform patching and maintenance on test and live environments, including antivirus, WSUS, RHEL, and product updates.

  • Manage PKI certificates and SIEM tooling.

  • Provide support to Engineering and Test teams.

  • Carry out Active Directory administration (accounts, groups, memberships, permissions, etc.).

  • Participate in the on-call rota to provide 24/7/365 support.

Essential Experience:

  • Strong background in infrastructure support.

  • Expertise in:

    • VMware vSphere

    • Windows Server

    • Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, RDS

    • McAfee

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to applications such as SharePoint, SQL, Exchange, and CASD
